MADPET says commute sentence of Azilah, person convicted for Altantuya's murder

Malaysians Against Death Penalty and Torture(MADPET) calls for the death sentence  of Azilah Hadri to be commuted to a prison sentence.

This is consistent with the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions, and also MADPET's position.

Azilah seeks royal pardon over Altantuya murder conviction

KUALA LUMPUR: Former special action force officer Azilah Hadri (pic) is seeking a royal pardon over his conviction for murder of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Azilah filed his petition for the consideration of the Selangor Sultan, his lawyer Datuk Hazman Ahmad confirmed to The Star.

Hazman said a copy of the petition had been handed to the Ruler's secretary on Friday morning.

He said a copy would also be handed to the Attorney-General and Selangor Mentri Besar.

"It will be heard by the Selangor pardon’s board chaired by the Selangor Sultan," he added. - Star Online, 15/1/2015
